GEMS Inc. is a non profit organization. We support, mentor and serve the people in the
communities where we live, work and socialize. We support each other and others who
need a support system with everyday life. Our mentorship program offers mentoring to
females and males from age 9 to 35. Our outreach program allows us to serve the
homeless. GEMS Inc exist because we understand life situations and we understand
sometimes life can get the best of us. We also understand that everyone deserves to
have someone to care and be there.
Our Story
How it Started
2013
GEMS was created in 2013 with women in mind. As we know women wear many
hats and help so many people in so many different ways. So, who is there to help the
woman when she has given her all and is depleted? Where does she go? Who does she
call on?
Being in women groups and having been in leadership roles of women ministries
before. I remember conversations of different women. I remember seeing women not
being their authentic selves for different reasons. I understood the feelings all too
well. Something had to change, and I decided to be the change that women needed
and desired.
GEMS started with a few women getting together and meeting at restaurants to eat
and talk. Discussions with no hold barred. Then came LIFE.

Fast Forward
2017
In 2017 I was given another assignment. You guessed it! GEMS was restarted reborn.
I had no idea that working at this place would open up an opportunity for me to find
myself again and revisit my purpose.
I would talk to the ladies every day and over time we began to have in-depth
conversations and trust was established. Then I found myself in their lives more and
more before work, at work and after work.
I remember one day thinking about these ladies and I wanted to do something special
for them. So, I invited a few of them to a get together and made it where they could
experience what it would be like to JUST BE! The only stipulation; they could only
think and talk about themselves. This was all about them!! Just Being!!
This was the beginning, GEMS, our journey and our vision in operation.
It's 2023 and we are extending our support, mentorship and service to other females
who would like to be a part of our mission.
